Seventeen years ago when Rick and Peggy Johnson got married their family
and friends came to the wedding event and found themselves scattered
around the area because there was no hotel in or close to Holmen. Since
Peggy's parents owned a resort north of Green Bay, they were both
qualified and prophetic when they said to their daughter, "There

Johnson's dream, which started more than 20 years ago, is finally
shaping into reality. Construction of their Prairie Inn and Suites motel
in Holmen began earlier this month, with completion expected in early
December. The idea began as they planned for their wedding day, Rick
explained. There were no hotels in the Holmen area - no place to put up
family and friends.

We
stayed at this hotel for three nights in early July and paid about $86 a
night after all the taxes and service fees. The hotel is only a couple
years old, and it is very clean and nicely decorated with modern
touches. The rooms included a small refrigerator, which was a nice perk.
Another nice touch: instead of using regular shampoo and soap products,
the room had fancier Rusk shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The people on
staff were very friendly and always willing to help if we had any
questions. The hotel has whirlpool suites, though we did not stay in
one. The hotel serves a very elaborate continental breakfast including
coffee, orange juice, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels, French toast and
waffles.
There were a few small things we thought were lacking, however,
considering the relatively high price for the area. The TVs didn't have
any premium channels, as many other hotels of the same price do, and
there was no hairdryer in the room.

Hi- We stayed with you this week-end (March
31st-April 1) while doing a little bathroom remodeling project for our
kids in Onalaska. We just wanted to let you know we have a really
pleasant stay. It was so nice to have a nice clean, comfortable room to
call home after a very long day. We were in room 115--loved the colors
in the room, the decorations, and the bed was really comfortable. We
will definitely stay with you again when we come down to see the kids.
Next time I hope we'll have time to have a breakfast with you too. -
